Features

  • Shows a large square shared canvas that renders strokes from the active drawer's phone.
  • Waits for at least two named players before automatically starting the next round.
  • Rotates the drawer role between connected players and gives the drawer a private word choice on their controller.
  • Lets guessers pick from a timed list of word options, with a 5 second lockout after each incorrect guess.
  • Tracks the total points for every player, with 1 point awarded to the first correct guess each round.

How to play

Setup

Open draw-guess on a shared screen such as a TV, projector, or laptop. Players join by scanning the QR code shown on the display, which opens the draw-guess-control companion app on their phone. The game needs at least 2 players to start and rounds begin automatically once enough players are connected.

The drawer's turn

Each round one player is chosen as the drawer. The drawer's phone shows 3 word options — tap one to begin (if no word is chosen within 20 seconds, the first option is picked automatically). Once a word is selected, a 90-second timer starts and the drawer sketches the word on their phone's canvas. The drawing appears live on the shared screen for everyone to see. The drawer can clear the canvas at any time to start over.

Guessing

Everyone except the drawer is a guesser. Guessers see 6 word options on their phone (the correct word plus 5 decoys) and tap the one they think matches the sketch. A wrong guess triggers a 5-second lockout before you can try again, so choose carefully. The first player to guess correctly wins the round and earns 1 point.

Round outcomes

| Outcome | What happens | |---|---| | Correct guess | The guesser scores 1 point. The word is revealed and a new round starts after 5 seconds. | | Time runs out | No points are awarded. The word is revealed and play moves on. | | Drawer disconnects | The round is cancelled and a new drawer is chosen. |

Scoring

Each correct guess is worth 1 point. The scoreboard on the display ranks all players by total points. The drawer role rotates through connected players, giving everyone a turn to draw.

Tips

  • Draw big and bold — the spray-paint brush is best used with broad strokes.
  • As a guesser, look at the options first and then watch the drawing unfold. Early strokes often narrow it down quickly.
  • New players can join at any time by scanning the QR code; they enter the rotation immediately.
  • Tap the title bar on the display to toggle fullscreen.
