Camera Broadcast

Camera Broadcast icon

Share your camera and microphone live with the screens in your RCWeb room. Opening the broadcaster asks for device access and prepares the feed for connected viewers.

Features

  • Camera and microphone selection, with separate on/off switches.
  • A local preview so you can check the picture before inviting viewers.
  • Video quality choices from low bandwidth to Full HD, plus an adaptive option.
  • Audio controls for echo cancellation, noise suppression and automatic gain.
  • A viewer link, connected-viewer list and feed details.

Start broadcasting

  1. Open Camera Broadcast on the device with the camera you want to use.
  2. Allow camera and microphone access when prompted. Broadcasting becomes available to viewers in the same room once the devices are ready.
  3. Choose your camera and microphone under Sources, and check their switches are set as you want.
  4. Enter a broadcaster name and select Update name.
  5. Use Copy viewer link or Open viewer to bring the receiving screens into the same room.

Keep this page open while broadcasting. Close it to end the feed, or use the camera and microphone switches to turn individual feeds off. Your local preview does not play your microphone back to you.

Choose picture and sound settings

HD is the default quality. Choose Low bandwidth or Balanced to reduce the load, Full HD for more detail, or Smooth for a higher requested frame rate. Adaptive reduces the requested quality as more viewers join. The camera and browser determine which settings are actually available; check Feed details for the result.

The audio-processing switches let you adjust background noise, echo and volume levelling where the browser supports them. To avoid feedback, mute monitoring on a nearby receiving screen or use headphones.

If a viewer cannot connect

Check that both devices are in the same room and the camera page is still open. Use Reconnect on the viewer's card to try again. Camera access generally needs a secure HTTPS address, or a local browser on the server computer. Restricted networks can prevent a live connection even when the room itself connects.
