Background bases were cropped below the static waterline, then four overlapping sections per scene were redrawn for finer detail, colour matched and joined into the final 4K JPEGs. Sprite alpha was preserved; almost-opaque body pixels were normalized to opaque. No runtime bloom or image filters are used. The padded sprites retain their original photographic detail.

## Animation

Each seahorse has a stable individual size between 55% and 100% of its base scale. They remain upright and keep their initial facing direction during both forward and backward trips, without rotating or flattening to turn.

Twelve residents by default. Long rests alternate with tail release, 5–9 second trips, hovering and a gentle settle onto a stem. Tail coils and dorsal fins deform in the existing WebGL mesh; the older-device Canvas renderer uses one reusable scratch canvas. A shared stem transform anchors the tail to the same visible point during plant sway and scenery shifts. Stems drift slowly and shift during scenery changes to vary OLED pixels. Food drifts near the seahorses’ snouts and is consumed locally.
